Ingredients
  

For the filling
  • 1 lb Ground beef Use 80/20 for juiciness and flavor, or 90/10 for less grease.
  • 1 packet Taco seasoning Follow packet instructions and adjust seasoning as necessary.
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded Block cheddar is recommended for better melt.
For the cups
  • 1 package Wonton wrappers Find square wrappers in the refrigerated section for best results.
For serving
  • to taste Sour cream Optional topping for serving.
  • to taste Salsa Optional topping for serving.
  • to taste Chopped green onions Optional garnishing.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for 6–8 minutes, until fully cooked.
  3. Drain the excess fat and add taco seasoning, mixing according to packet instructions.
  4. Prepare a muffin tin by lightly greasing each cup.
  5. Press a wonton wrapper into each cup, forming little cups.
  6. Spoon seasoned beef into each wrapper and top with shredded cheddar.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before releasing from the muffin tin.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with sour cream, salsa, and chopped green onions.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider overlapping wonton wrappers. You can also chill the assembled cups for 5 minutes before baking for better texture.
