Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups rice Chex cereal Light, hollow crunch that soaks up the chocolate-peanut butter coating.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use semisweet or milk chocolate chips for melting.
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter Creamy peanut butter helps the chocolate adhere.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Creates the classic dusty finish.
  • 1 cup green candy Use M&M’s or chocolate-covered pretzels.
  • 1 tablespoon butter For added shine when melting.

Method

Preparation
  1. Step 1: Melt the chocolate and peanut butter. Add the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring in between, until glossy and smooth.
  2. Step 2: Coat the cereal. Place Chex cereal in a large bowl, drizzle melted mixture over top, and gently fold until evenly coated.
  3. Step 3: Prepare the powdered sugar mixture. In a zip-top bag, add powdered sugar and green candy, seal, and gently move candy around.
  4. Step 4: Combine cereal and sugar. Transfer the coated cereal to the bag, seal, and shake until well coated in powdered sugar.
  5. Step 5: Cool and set. Pour onto a baking sheet and let it cool for 15-30 minutes until chocolate firms up.
  6. Step 6: Enjoy and serve. Move to a serving bowl or portion into jars for gifts.

Notes
