  • 2 tablespoons butter Use unsalted or salted based on preference.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated is recommended for best flavor.

  • to taste pinch pepper Freshly cracked black pepper is preferred.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional) Sauté briefly to mellow flavor.

Preparation
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the green beans for 3–4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant (if using).
  3. Add the cooked green beans to the skillet and toss to coat in the butter.
  4. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the green beans and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Toss everything together until the cheese is melted and the beans are evenly coated.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with lemon zest if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet to preserve texture.
