Ingredients
  

Shake Base
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream Use higher-fat premium vanilla for a richer texture.
  • ¾ cup whole milk Ideal for body and creaminess.
Flavor and Color
  • ½ teaspoon mint extract Use pure peppermint or spearmint extract.
  • 4 drops green food coloring For iconic visual cue.
Toppings
  • 1 serving whipped cream For topping.
  • 1 piece maraschino cherry For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Scoop 2 cups of vanilla ice cream into a blender, then pour in ¾ cup of whole milk.
  2. Secure the lid and blend on medium-high until the mixture is smooth and uniform.
  3. Measure ½ teaspoon of mint extract and add it to the blended base, along with 4 drops of green food coloring.
  4. Blend again briefly on low to incorporate the mint and color.
  5. Taste and adjust the mint extract and food coloring as needed.
  6. Divide the shake between two glasses, top with whipped cream, and add a maraschino cherry.

Notes

Chill glasses in the freezer to keep the shake colder longer. For a thicker shake, reduce milk to ½ cup or add a frozen banana. Store in the fridge for up to 24 hours or freeze for a week.
