For the Mornay Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter For making the roux.
  • 1/4 cup flour For thickening the sauce.
  • 2 cups milk Whole milk recommended for creaminess.
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg Adds flavor to the cheese sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon salt To taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper To taste.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella and cheddar mix) Choose fresh cheese for better melting.
For the Sliders
  • 1 pound sliced turkey Deli turkey or freshly roasted.
  • 2 medium tomatoes Fresh sliced tomatoes.
  • 6 slices bacon Cooked until crispy.
  • 6 slider buns soft slider buns For easy assembly.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a simmer, stirring until thickened.
  4. Add cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  5. Assemble the sliders by placing turkey and tomatoes on slider buns, topping with bacon, and drizzling with Mornay cheese sauce.
  6. Bake for about 15-20 minutes until heated through and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can freeze assembled sliders for up to a month. Reheat in the oven until warm. Customize with toppings to fit your taste.
