  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Use natural unsweetened for brighter flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk Whole milk is best for tenderness.
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil Choose neutral oil like canola.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
For Decoration
  • 1 green frosting For frosting and decor.
  • edible decorations (flowers, earth-shaped candies) Use for decorating cupcakes.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until uniform.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, oil, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 18–20 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let them cool.
  7. Frost with green frosting and decorate with edible decorations.

Notes

Store frosted cupcakes in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freeze unfrosted cupcakes for up to 3 months.
