Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup butter, softened Use unsalted, high-quality butter for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Adds moisture and caramel note.
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Spoon and level for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • as needed green and blue food coloring Gel food coloring preferred.
  • optional sprinkles For decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into the wet mixture.
  5. Divide the dough and color one portion green and the other blue with food coloring.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, flatten slightly, and add sprinkles if desired.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, watching for golden edges.
  8. Cool cookies on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store baked cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. For crisper edges, keep a paper towel inside the container; for softness, add a slice of bread.
