Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 oz tequila (100% agave, blanco or reposado) Choose a high-quality tequila for the best flavor.
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice (squeezed) Use freshly squeezed lime juice for optimal taste.
  • 1 oz triple sec (or orange liqueur such as Cointreau) For sweetness and balance.
  • 1 pinch salt for rimming the glass Coarse or flaky salt is recommended.
  • 1 wedge lime wedge for garnish Fresh lime for the best presentation.
  • 1 cup ice Fresh, clear ice to keep the drink cold.

Method

Preparation
  1. Chill your glass briefly, then run a lime wedge around the rim to wet it. Dip the wet rim into coarse salt to coat evenly without clumping.
  2. Fill the glass with fresh, clear ice to keep the drink cold and slow dilution.
Mixing
  1. In a cocktail shaker, add the tequila, fresh lime juice, and triple sec over ice. Fill the shaker, leaving room for shaking.
  2. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until the shaker feels ice-cold, then double-strain the mixture over fresh ice into the salt-rimmed glass.
Serving
  1. Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim and serve immediately for the best flavor experience.

Notes

Store any leftover cocktail in an airtight container for up to 24 hours and keep chilled. Avoid using bottled lime juice for the best flavor.
