Preparation
  1. Combine sliced bananas and drained crushed pineapple in a large bowl. Gently fold the fruit together.
  2. Add whipped cream or whipped topping and fold until the mixture is uniformly light and airy.
  3. Sprinkle in chopped nuts and mini marshmallows, stirring carefully to distribute evenly.
  4. Drizzle with chocolate syrup if desired and swirl gently.
  5. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  6. Garnish with maraschino cherries just before serving.

Notes
